Stone Information

Amythest

Colour: Purple to Lavender.

Origins: United States, Britain, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Sri Lanka, Uruguay, East Africa, Siberia, India.

Amythest is said to be a calming stone, being hugely beneficial to those of us who are slightly scatty! It is said to focus and calm the mnd, aiding decision making, bringing in common sense. It can also help overcome insomnia (the Ginger massive could do with some in that case!). It helps to balance out your emotional state, levelling out the highs and lows.
Physically it boosts production of hormones and cleanses the immune system. Amythest relieves headaches, reduces brusing, injuries and and swellings. It is said to be beneficial to those suffering with respiratory and skin conditions.

Warning: Amythest will fade in colour if exposed to prolonged sunlight.

 
Rainbow Moonstone

Colour: White with yellows, blues and greens.

Origins: India, Sri Lanka, Australia.

As the name suggests the stone is believed to be strongly connected to the moon, and is a reminder of change. Its most powerful effect is the calming of the emotions, it promotes intuition and calms overreactions to situations. It is said to be the perfect antidote to the excessively macho man or overly aggressive female. It soothes instability and stress.

Physically it effects the female reproductive cycle and and relieves PMS. It eliminates toxins and fluid retention and is helpful in relieving degenerative conditions of the physical body.
 
Garnet

Colour: Red (commonly), pink, green, ornage, yellow, brown, black.

Origins: Worldwide.

Garnet is a handy stone to know. Many years ago it was warn as a protective talisman as it is widely believed to warn of imminent danger. It is particularly useful to have around in a crisis as it activates, fortifies and strengthens the survival instinct, encouraging hope and courage. Emotionally, it removes fears and inhibitions, encouraging self confidence.

Physically it is good for purifying and reenergising the blood, heart and lungs. It is said to help with spinal and cellular disorders.
 
Peridot

Colour: Olive green, yellowish-green, honey, red, brownish.

Origins: United States, Brazil, Egypt, Ireland, Russia, Sri Lanka, Canary Islands.

Peridot is for those with a conscience. It is believed to get rid of "old baggage", relieving burden, guilt or obsessions. It releases negative patterns and helps you to "move on".

It also alleviates jealousy, resentment, spite, anger and stress.

(The Ginger massive especially like this next bit...!)

With Peridots aid you can admit mistakes and move on, it helps you to take responsibility for your own life and is hugely beneficial to those who believe "it is someone else's fault".

Apparently it is good to have on hand in the maternity ward as it strengthens muscle contractions.
 
Turquoise

Colour: Turquoise (shocker!)

Origins: United States, Egypt, Mexico, China, Iran, Peru, Poland, Russia, France, Tibet, Afghanistan, Arabia.

Turquoise is a clever little thing... it is thought to change colour to warn of danger of infidelity!

It dispels negative energy and provides protection against pollutants in the environment.

It also assists with problem solving and calms the nerves, especially when speaking in public.

It can stabilise mood swings and promote romantic love.

It is good for anti-inflammatory and detoxifying purposes.
 

Rose Quartz

Colour: Pink

Origins: /south Africa, United States, Brazil, Japan, India, Madagascar.

If you are looking for love then Rose Quartz is the stone for you. Placed in the relationship corner of your home it is thought to be so powerful in attracting love that the response might be overwhelming!

In existing relationships it will restore trust and harmony and encourage unconditional love, it also draws away any negative feelings and replaces them with loving vibes.

It is good for chest and lung problems as well as encouraging fertility.
